Discover Australia
Why Australia?
From Sydney’s harbour to the reefs of Tropical North Queensland, Australia’s East Coast is made for exactly this kind of trip: big enough to feel like a real adventure, and easy enough to share with a group of people you just met.
Best time to visit
The East Coast is a year-round destination, and every season brings something different. Summer (December to February) means the warmest water and longest days for beaches and swimming. Autumn (March to May) is quieter and mild, great for exploring without the crowds. Winter (June to August) is the dry season up north, the best time for the Great Barrier Reef and the tropics. Spring (September to November) brings warmer weather and green landscapes before the summer rush.
Visa and entry
Most visitors need a visa to enter Australia, so sort it before you fly. Check what applies to you on the Department of Home Affairs website, immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.
Currency
Australian dollar (AUD). Cards work almost everywhere, even for small amounts.
